Last winter, the Hollenbach family explored 23 cross country ski centers around the state of Vermont, one of the U.S.'s top Nordic destinations. The project was dubbed the “Tour de Hollenbach” - an incredible adventure for Jake, Helen and their 3 year old, Johannes.

In this short video, we catch up with the Hollenbach family as they navigate the fun and challenges of cross country skiing with a 3 year old. Jake and Helen made it a positive experience for their son with appropriate gear, groomed trails and plenty of snacks.

QUESTION: What was your favorite town/race venue the Tour de Ski traveled through?
ANSWER: The first question is pretty hard! All of these towns are so cool and unique, with amazing views of mountains. There was not a ton of natural snow in some of the locations, mostly all on man made, small snow loops. Val Mustair in Switzerland was very cool. We stayed in a small town that had incredibly tiny streets and we drove through what looked like castles and ramparts to get there.
