Meet Nicholas Witherbee

Hometown:Concord, MA

Years of Experience: I've been working in bike shops for the past 3 1/2 years. I specialize in bicycle maintenance in particular.

Certifications and Awards: Shimano S-Tec

Outside Interests and Hobbies: When I'm not out peddling my bike or strapped into my snowboard, I enjoy hiking the green mountains and Adirondacks, pottery, photography, good food, and even better Vermont beer.

Favorite Gear: Five Ten Freerider Shoes - perfect amount of grip and pedal feel; DMR Vault Chromag Scarab pedals - I'm a flats guy!; Anything in the Santa Cruz line up - they're built to last and come spec'd ready to rip!; Spring Break Slush Slasher by CAPiTA - one of the most playful, surfable, and versatile snowboards that will put a smile on any riders face!; Thirty Two Lashed Boots - great do-it-all boot with just enough response flex (not just for slush!); Crab Grab skate rails - stylish, functional, great grip and they don't get in the way of tuning equipment.

Favorite local outdoor destination(s): Winter: Sugarbush Mountain - slidebrook woods in particular and Bolton Valley Ski Area. Summer: Saxon Hill, Cady Hill (get well soon!), Perry Hill, Cochran's, Highland MTB Park, Burke Bike Park and Killington Bike Park.

Fun Fact or Story: I once rode a section of an EWS Stage (Stage Four) in Snowmass, CO with Jared Graves, Cody Kelley and Anneke Beerten as they were practicing for their race runs. Nothing is more humbling than riding with some of the sports' top athletes - MAN are they FAST and SMOOTH - a few corners in and I was literally in a cloud of dust!
