Wintersteiger Race NC Grind Service is Now Available for Alpine Race Skis

For downhill skiers who want a race quality stone grind, Skirack is now offering alpine race grinds with our new Wintersteiger Race NC machine.

What is an alpine race base grind, and why do I need it? The base grind of your skis is kind of like the tread pattern on a car tire - it is important that you use the tread that matches the surface you are driving on. Skis are no different when alpine racing or high performance skiing. The factory grind is very generic and not very accurate when your skis are new. By getting an alpine race quality grind, you will ensure a completely flat base, and the right depth and pattern on your base for the conditions you are skiing.

All skis new and old will perform better with a proper grind. Stop by and talk to one of our service techs to see if the alpine race grind is right for you! We can also help determine what types of grind the current snow conditions are calling for!

Wintersteiger NC Race Grinder Cross-Country

Skirack is proud to offer world class stone grinding services using the Wintersteiger Race NC machine. This service flattens and refreshes the base material of skis, and adds a finish structure to match specific snow conditions.

With a Race NC stone grind, skis absorb and hold wax better, ski with greater stability, edges more easily, and glides more efficiently. Refinishing skis with an annual stone grind extends ski life and preserves base material. New waxing rules have leveled the playing field for junior racers, however a well prepared base can give you the advantage and make your skis faster.
