Skirack of Burlington, VT, a locally owned and operated ski/bike/run specialty store, now in our 48th year, is looking for an experienced bicycle mechanic.

Applicants for consideration will have at least 3-5 years of professional bicycle service experience, an excellent work ethic and the ability to meet world class standards of excellence in customer service in a fast paced setting.

Prior experience with suspension systems, hydraulic brakes and electronic components is a definite bonus.

This is a Full Time Seasonal position with an opportunity for a full time/year round, benefitted position for the right candidate.

Experienced Inventory and Receiving Supervisor

Skirack of Burlington, VT, a locally owned and operated ski/bike/run specialty store, now in our 48th year, is seeking a full time experienced Inventory and Receiving Supervisor. The ideal candidate is interested in working in a privately owned business that values personal health and well-being as well as contributing to communities in which we work.

This position will oversee and participate in the smooth and efficient operation of all shipping and receiving functions, warehouse organization and maintaining inventory accuracy.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Direct and participate in all shipping and receiving functions that affect the store‚Äôs inventory and manage the product flow from receipt to on floor.
  • Supervises and organizes regularly scheduled inventory counts, to include the freezing of inventory categories, count, reviewing variance reports and posting adjustments accordingly.
  • Review of Aged Inventory reports, work with buyers, accounting and the sales team to identify the aged inventory, and assist with strategies to sell through slow moving product.
  • Look for ways to simplify or reinvent processes while maintaining high level of accuracy.
  • Unloading and sorting deliveries, processing inbound shipments using scanner guns, receiving vendor direct, UPS and Federal Express deliveries.
  • Labeling and preparing product for the sales floor.
  • Assist with the stocking and back stocking of product on the floors according to company standards.
  • Work as a back-up for our Web Department with Pick/Pack/Ship responsibilities, and answer basic web store customer questions.
  • Assist in the seasonal transition planning.
  • This job will require you to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly over the week.


  • Qualified candidate will have previous inventory/warehouse experience.
  • Supervisory or management experience is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills (UPS Software, Counterpoint, Dazzle USPS, FedEx scheduler experience is a plus)
  • Ability to multi-task, problem-solve and make decisions independently and in collaboration with other store leaders.
  • You are accurate and detail orientated in your work and enjoy working with both product and people. You approach working with both the least and most experienced staff with a professionalism and positive attitude which is felt throughout the company.

Ecommerce Fulfillment and Communications Manager

Your primary responsibility is to lead the direct-to-customer communications for the Skirack's Ecommerce store. You facilitate all steps to promptly answer customer inquiries, meet and fulfill customer needs. You support and help train staff who will join you serving customers. Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and HTML is a plus.

The ideal candidate is passionate about being outside and helping others get outside. Personal experience and interest in nordic skiing gear and Patagonia clothing will make this job more fun and interesting to the right candidate. You possess a strong work ethic, a high level of patience and a willingness to learn every day. Our Ecommerce channel (like our retail store) is built upon outstanding customer service. As manager you are dedicated to provide professional customer service and communications to consumers, fellow employees and vendors. You will handle order verification, fraud prevention and follow-up with customers.

As a vital member of the Ecommerce team, you work closely with retail and service staff, buyers, content writers, shipping and receiving, marketing and the IS Manager. You enjoy striving for and maintaining a high standard of quality and efficiency in your daily work. This role best suits an individual who is passionate about the Internet, communications and outdoor retail in general.


  • Supervise and assist with e-commerce operations including direct-to-consumer communications, order fulfillment, order management, quality inspection, gift services and content generation.
  • Train staff to insure high level of employee confidence and competence in answering customer inquiries and maximizing web and/or in-store purchases.
  • Work with marketing team to create online, email and in-store graphics that ensures effective, appealing and consist communication with customers in all channels.
  • Provide prompt and professional responses to customer inquiries via email and telephone. Maintain customer contact including keeping them informed of their order status as required.
  • Check on customer orders and returns through to completion and customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate and problem solve with Inventory Specialist and Buyers regarding stock levels, discrepancies, opportunities etc.
  • Ensure highest levels of customer service, communication, and teamwork for internal and external customers in all channels. Develop, document, maintain and monitor e-commerce operations policies and procedures that maximize efficiencies and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage fulfillment vendors responsible for drop-ship fulfillment.
  • Maintain appropriate level of department supplies.

Qualifications and Benefits:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience providing direct customer service; retail and online environment preferred. Experience with order fulfillment a plus.
  • A knack for creative and effective problem solving in pressure situations. Demonstrated ability to make quick decisions that benefit the customer and company.
  • Excellent communication skills required (written and oral).
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner and to be a collaborative team player.
  • A natural drive to improve operational systems.
  • You encourage people around you to join in achieving strong results.
  • Able to multi-task and handle multiple priorities with a sense of perspective and good humor.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long stretches and lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to learn company-specific inventory management programs. HTML, photo and video experience would be plusses.
